In 2018, Ásrún Magnúsdóttir took in a puffin who was found on the side of the road in Reykjavik, who looked to have been hit by a car. A veterinarian concluded that the bird was blind. Ásrún used social media to help find support to care for the puffin and was featured on the animal lover’s site ‘The Dodo’.
