Saltjökull, 2018

Inkjet on newsprint, 15” x 10” each

6 Images of Baltimore's downtown salt storage were printed on hundreds of sheets of newspaper and sent to Finsen’s Fish and Chips in Stykkishólmur, Iceland. During the height of tourist season in 2018, these papers were used to wrap the fish and chips for consumption. Customers were presented some project information and given the choice to donate the greasy refuse back. Stykkishólmur is on the Snæfellnes Peninsula, which is home to the great Snæfellsjökull. It is also home to Roni Horn’s permanent installation Vatnsafn (Library of Water), which houses water from glaciers all across Iceland.
